How We Started:  Jay
"When I decided to get serious about music (as serious as a
12-year-old can be), I started on guitar.  My lessons lasted four
months until I fractured my wrist tripping over a hammock.  That
stupid hammock led me to the piano while the wrist was mending
(a guitar neck and a cast don't play well together).  Self-taught on
both guitar and piano from that point forward, I spent my teens
and early twenties organizing and performing in a series of rock
and dance bands -- Prism, Jumpin' the Gun, Champagne.  Along
the way, I graduated from University of Penn with a B.A. in Psych
and an unofficial minor in Music -- and went to work programming
computers.

"While working in IT, I played private affairs with Blue Champagne
and Sound Approach.  I met Annette while advertising for a
replacement singer.  We married in '83.  Our family now includes a
teenage daughter (playing clarinet and a little guitar), and a
beagle who tries to rule the house.

"In summer of '99, Annette and I wanted to explore music in more
intimate settings and give our writing some exposure.  We
formed Once Upon a Full Moon Night, hung moons from our
guitars, and soon eclipsed any past bands with the occasional
lunacy of our performances!  Anything can happen now, from
teary ballads, to swing versions of classic rock songs, to
Texas-two-step rips of Top 40 filler.

"Eleven of our originals are now on CD, in full-production
versions that offer surprises of their own.  But our live
performances are where anything can happen.  Come join us!"
How We Started:  Annette
"My debut in the arts was as a skinny 5-year-old on a bi-i-i-g stage
at a campground, singing 'Pepino the Little Mouse,' in English and
Italian, to fellow campers, families, and fireflies.  The combination
of my 'cute' age and the bi-lingual rendition must have made quite
an impression, because I remember thunderous applause -- well,
okay, several people clapped.  But I was hooked.

"From there, I moved from 'Pepino' and the b-i-i-ig stage to the
li-i-i-ittle patch of my Camden front lawn, performing twilight
tunes with my friends, for parents and ever-patient neighbors.
Next up was elementary school marching band, a 5th-grade
"Snoopy" production, and clarinet, guitar, and vocal lessons.

"As I 'growed up,' I moved from a campground and neighborhood
to songwriting and singing and playing guitar in pageants,
coffeehouses, wedding ceremonies, and several bands.  Along
the way, I graduated from Temple University with a B.A. in
Marketing, collaborated with other songwriters and lyricists
(including my mother), and met and married Jay:  my vocal, guitar,
songwriting, and life partner.

"Now it's anything can happen, as, in Once Upon a Full Moon
Night, I still sing twilight tunes, now about fairytales, fireflies, and
full moons.  Now ... where did I leave that music for 'Pepino?'"
